Football

Queen’s Birthday Weekend saw a stand alone game in the Peninsula FNL between Chelsea and Bonbeach. In the Seniors Chelsea put up a good fight in the first half of the match only trailing by 19 points at the major break. After half time though Bonbeach had other idea’s running away with the match. Trent Dennis-Lane kicked 9 goal for the Sharks in their 51 point win.

In the reserves it was a bit of a one sided affair with Bonbeach controlling the match out from the get-go. The Sharks managed to keep the Seagulls to just 3 goals for the whole game. Bonbeach eventually ran out 65 point winners.

In the closest match for the day Bonbeach got up and won over Chelsea by 10 points. The Seagulls started well holding a 3 point lead at quarter time. Bonbeach came from quarter fired up as they slammed on 3.5 to Chelsea’s 4 behinds to take a 16 point lead into the main break. Chelsea never stopped and kept Bonbeach on their toe’s but the second quarter cost the Gulls as they played catch-up football for the rest of the day.
